Over the last few weeks, Millennium 3 Solutions moved a valuable client’s website from a Microsoft IIS/Windows server to a Linux server. There were many considerations to attend to, to ensure SEO value was not disrupted and all server-side scripts were converted from ASP to PHP, but the operation was an overall great success.
There are advantages to Microsoft technologies servers and other advantages for Linux-type servers, but much of it comes down to technology preference/technology style. In this case, the move as a great choice for the client, which will save them alot of money on web hosting and allows for faster, cheaper, easier website development.
